FIFA 2010 is all set for the much awaited quarter finals

The next round of the fifa world cup-2010 will be starting from 2 July,2010. After fighting hard Eight teams have reached the last 8 (quarter finals) of the FIFA 2010. Paraguay became the first team in this World Cup to win a penalty shoot-out when they beat Japan 5-3 on spot kicks after the two teams played out a dull goalless draw after extra time.Paraguay topped their group after opening the campaign with a 1-1 draw against world champions Italy.

Ghana edged beat the ever-battling USA in the first knockout stage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup to book themselves a place in the quarterfinals for the first time.Doing so, Ghana emerged the third African country to have ever reached the quarterfinals after Cameroon and Senegal in 1990 and 2002 respectively and also became the first African country to reach that stage in a World Cup staged in Africa, the first of its kind.

All these eight teams are very good team and it is expected by the fans that the quarter final matches will be very exciting to watch. Mean while FIFA to release 2000 tickets of disappointed fans. FIFA said on Wednesday it would release 2,000 tickets for the World Cup quarter-finals which had been reserved by fans who hoped their teams would reach the last eight but had seen them eliminated.There are 500 tickets available for the Brazil-Netherlands match at Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth; 1,200 for the Uruguay-Ghana match at Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg; and 300 tickets available for Argentina-Germany match at Greenpoint stadium in Cape Town.

Upon further review, soccer’s governing body agrees something must be done about the blatant missed calls that have infuriated fans and players alike at the World Cup.FIFA president Sepp Blatter said Tuesday that changes will be considered, and that he has apologized to the English and Mexican teams, both of which were victims of bad calls Sunday.
